Veris Investments is an investment company that makes long-term equity investments in companies with activities in the food value chain in Sub-Saharan Africa. Our mission is to improve food security by driving, together with management, the growth of companies with a high impact on (i) food availability, (ii) food affordability, and/or (iii) food value chain stability.
Veris Investments targets the whole food value chain, including inputs, primary agriculture, distribution, processing, logistics and storage, distribution and marketing, wholesale and retail, capital goods and (financial) services and is stage agnostic in a sense that it provides capital to start-up companies, for growth and for brownfield operations. Together with management and other investors, Veris Investments seeks to generate commercial returns.
It is a very hands-on investor that provides portfolio companies with expertise, experience, knowledge and access to a wide network of professionals on the back of the Dutch agricultural knowledge base. Initial ticket sizes range from EUR1-10m, with the potential to invest additional funds thereafter and are not limited by fixed investment or exit timelines.
