How do we obtain your personal data?
There is a difference between account data and Dealmaker profile data. Account data is used to manage your account and use of our services. Dealmaker profile data is professional information that may be visible on the Dealmaker.nl platform, either publicly or to logged-in users.
Account data you share yourself
Dealmaker.nl holds account data about you because you have provided that data to us, for example when you create an account, use our services, contact us or subscribe to communications.
Professional data we collect from third parties or public sources
Dealmaker.nl may supplement professional data where possible with data from public sources, such as LinkedIn, company websites, press releases, public deal announcements or other publicly available professional sources. This may include your job title, company name, industry and professional role.
Profile data provided by you or deal submitters
Dealmaker.nl contains professional profiles of people active in the dealmaking and M&A market. A profile may be created when you create or claim it yourself, or when you are added to a submitted deal as a professional involved in that transaction.
If a profile is created because you are added to a submitted deal, the profile usually contains limited professional information, such as your name, job title, company name and involvement in the deal. Additional profile information, such as a biography, phone number or LinkedIn profile, is only added when you provide this information yourself through your account. This additional profile information may be visible to logged-in users of Dealmaker.nl.
What are your rights?
Under the European General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights regarding your data and its processing:
Access You can always view and, if necessary, amend your own (personal) data in your account. If you wish to see the personal data that Dealmaker.nl holds about you, you can submit a request for access.
Amendment If you wish to make changes to the personal data you have viewed following an access request and which you cannot change yourself in your account, you can submit a request to Dealmaker.nl. You can request that Dealmaker.nl modifies, corrects, supplements, deletes or restricts your data.
Restriction of processing You also have the right, under certain conditions, to request that Dealmaker.nl restricts the processing of your personal data.
Right to object If a particular processing activity takes place on the basis of the 'legitimate interest' of Dealmaker.nl or a third party, you have the right to object to that processing.
Data portability You have the right to obtain your personal data from Dealmaker.nl. Dealmaker.nl will provide this in a structured and commonly used format that can easily be opened in other common digital systems. In this way, you can also transfer your data to another provider.
Withdrawing consent In all cases where the legal basis for a particular data processing activity is your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent. This has no effect on past processing, but does mean that we may no longer process that data going forward. It is possible that Dealmaker.nl may no longer be able to provide you with certain services as a result.

A request can be sent to privacy@sijthoffmedia.nl. Dealmaker.nl will fulfil your request as soon as possible and in any case no later than one (1) month after receiving such a request. If Dealmaker.nl rejects your request, we will indicate in our response why the request is being declined.
